This is nice compressed Da Hong Pao, produced in autumn 2015 by “MoyChay.ru” special order.
The tea leaves was processed with strong fermentation and “high” fire.
The compressed “leaf” weights 20 grams. The “leaf” is naturally shaped and ornamented with “MoyChay.ru” logo, two caterpillars and larvae that symbolize the organic tea leaf with no insecticide treatment. The aroma of dried tea is quite, with woody and corny tones. The clear liquor has hazelnut tint.
The bouquet of brewed tea is warm, corny, round, with ripe cognac, woody resins, and autumn damp leaf tones. The taste is strong, rich, deep and bitter if tea is over brewed. The aroma is quite, complex with southern flower and sun heated stone tones. The mild aftertaste is nice.
Da Hong Pao is brewed with hot boiled water 95-100°С in the yixing teapot for strong fermented oolongs or in the gaiwan. Take 6-7 grams (one third of a “leaf”) for 100 ml vessel. You can steep first infusion for 20 seconds. Then just rinse tea leaves with water and pour liquor into cups. The tea goes 7-8 infusions. The best volume for one 20 grams “leaf” is 250-300 ml clay kettle. Those who love strong infusions can brew 6-7 grams in the thermos.
This is a nice choice for an everyday tea time during the cold season. The tea has heating, tonic effect, relieves emotional tension and provides the friendly communication.
