Original grade "Well of West Lake Dragon" designed by farmer Tou Ze. It was made in Hangzhou (Zhejiang province) from buds and upper leaves of the spring harvest in 2016.
When dry, these are neat flat buds of medium size, together with two top leaves "cyue she" ("sparrow tongues") of bright pistachio-green colours. The fragrance of the dry tea is intense, herbal-floral with a nuance of walnut. The infusion is transparent and has a very light golden-green hue.
The bouquet of ready tea is bright, multi-layered, herbal-floral with notes of honey, sunflower seeds and fresh herbs. The scent is delicate, herbal-honey. The taste is soothing, oily, rich, distinctly sweet, a bit astringent with a most subtle fruity sour note. A luscious, multi-layered long aftertaste.
Preparation: brew with hot water first brought to boil and then cooled down to 90°C, in a porcelain/celadon gaiwan, or in glass. The proportion is 6 g per 100 ml. Use "pouring brewing method" (pouring water through leaves, gradually extending exposure time). The leaves can last for 5 -6 brews.
A classic "Lung Ching" grade with an oily multi-layered flavour and a refreshing, slightly envigorating, positive effect.
