«Taiping Houkui» («The Monkey King from Taiping») is a green tea from Huangshan area of Anhui Province, harvest 2019.
In appearance: large (8-10 cm), flat, dark green stripes of tea shoots. The aroma is delicate, grassy with a nutty accent. The infusion is transparent, with a very light green shade.
The bouquet of the ready-made tea is fresh, grassy, with floral and nutty notes. The delicate scent of a summer meadow. The taste is soft and full-bodied, buttery, slightly spicy, with berry acidity and light bitterness, again and again giving birth to a juicy sweetness in the aftertaste.
Brew tea with hot water (80°C) in a porcelain gaiwan (it will be difficult to put such long shoots in a teapot without breaking them). The proportion is 3-4 g per 100 ml. The time of the first steeping is about 10-15 seconds. After that do short steeps (just for 5 seconds) increasing steeping time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can steep the tea up to 6-7 times.
In the morning or afternoon, «Taiping Houkui» is the perfect drink to revitalize your mind and refresh your spirit.
