The Banzhang Mountain is situated on the north part of the Bulangshan Mountains (Menghai district, Xishuangbanna). This area is famous as a source of the best, the most interesting and expensive sheng puer. This is back country, fenced from the world by rugged tropical jungle.
This sheng puer is produced by Yu Kang Plant. The raw material is spring tips of tea bushes. They were harvested near the famous Laobanzhang village at 1700 meters above sea level.
Dry cha bing, tea cake, is 357 gram weight. It is easily crushed by fingers into the long, thin, twisted dark-brown tea leaves, dark beige buds and thin stems. The aroma is gentle with a fruity, woody and smoky tones. The clear liquor is nutty.
The bouquet of brewed tea is bright, fruity, woody with camphor, spicy and smoky tones. It has a typical aroma of dried fruit compote. The taste is rich, round, silky, with slight citrus sour nuance, mint freshness and spicy nuances. The aftertaste is refreshing and rich.
Laobangzhang Sheng Puer is brewed with 95-100°С water in yixing teapot for sheng puers or in gaiwan. Take 5-6 grams for 100ml vessel. Make quick infusions and increase the infusion time gradually. Brew this way 12 and more times.
