Shu Pu'er "Fifth Grade" comes from the small farm "Yu Lu" in Mènhaj county.
When dry, these are large wine-brown strings of twisted leaves together with leaf fragments and some few thin stems with a very moderate, sweetish, nutty woody fragrance. The infusion is transparent, of a reddish-brown hue.
The bouquet of ready tea is mature, nutty-woody with notes of bread, wood resins and autumn leaves. The taste is rich, velvety, slightly astringent, sweetish with a slight bitter note. The scent is moderate, sweetish, nutty-woody. A soothing velvety aftertaste.
Preparation: brew with boiling hot (100°C) water in a clay teapot of a mug. The proportion is 5 g per 250 ml. Brewing time is 1-2 min. The leaves can last for 3 brews.
A good farmer Shu Pu'Er tea for daily use without many complications, a "hurry-scurry style" tea. It has tonic and warming up properties.
