Teucrium Polium (Téucrium pólium) is a perennial shrub of the kind Dubrovnik (Teucrium), Lamiaceae family. The upper pices of shoots with flowers were harvested in Ilovlinsky District of the Volgograd region in July 2016, and dried with great precision at low temperatures.
Inflorescences contain essential oil, bitter, resin, flavonoids, tannins, vitamin C.
The therapeutic effect of Dubrovnik is based on its astringent and bactericidal action. In medicine, it is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal disease, urolithiasis, and febrile bronchitis states. Outwardly teas Dubrovnik used as a compress for dermatitis, boils and eye diseases, as well as a wound-healing agent.
Contraindications to use are the liver disease.
In the health-building to Dubrovnik are best brewed and drunk as a tea, a strait. Recommended mixture: 2-3 grams of inflorescences per 100 ml of boiling water. When "single" tea leaves in a mug or thermos recommended proportion: 1-2 g inflorescences 300 ml of boiling water.
The drink turns transparent, very light greenish hue with intense, spicy aroma and a light, buttery taste with bright, juicy bitterness.
