Wormwood (Artemísia absínthium) is a perennial herb of the genus Artemisia, Asteraceae family. Shoots were picked and prepared , by an experienced herbalist at the phase of flowering in Yelets district of Lipetsk region in June, 2016. It'd been dried with great precision at low temperatures, so it’d kept all nutrients given by nature.
Wormwood contains sesquiterpene lactones, bitter glycosides (absintin, anabsintin, artabsin et al.), saponins, flavonoids, volatile, resin and tannins, ascorbic acid, carotene, essential oils, potassium salts, organic acids (malic, succinic) and other compounds.
It enhances the function of the gastrointestinal tract (secretion of bile and pancreatic juice), has anti-inflammatory and laxative effect, activates alveolar ventilation, pulmonary blood flow and myocardial function.
Wormwood is also the main component of absinthe, vermouth and some alcoholates.
In Russian traditional medicine, an infusion of wormwood herb used at fever, diseases of the liver, stomach and spleen, as well as in dropsy and as an anthelmintic remedy. In modern medicine some drugs based on wormwood are widely used in the treatment of gastrointestinal, liver, biliary tract and respiratory system disorders.
Wormwood is contraindicated during pregnancy and can cause seizures, convulsions and hallucinations in large doses.

The drink has clear bright greenish-yellow color, rich aroma and flavorful taste with a spicy bitterness.
