Snow Chrysanthemum (Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt) is herbaceous plant in the Asteraceae family. This rather rare plant, blooming in August, has a very small area of growth at an altitude of 3000 m in the mountains of Kunlushan (Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region) on the border of the glacier. It is grown as a medicinal product with a mass of useful properties.
Dry flowers can be brewed with hot water (80°C). The proportion is 1 g (30 flowers) per 100 ml. The first brew should last for 15 seconds. After that make short brews (just for 1-2 seconds), increasing the infusion time gradually. You can repeat this brewing method up to 10 times.
When brewing the flowers give a transparent infusion of bright apricot hue, fruity-floral aroma and tender, oily taste.
