"Baozhong – Orchid Fragrance" (autumn harvest of 2017) is made in the northeast of Taiwan in the Pinglin region. The history of “Baozhong” (in the West known as “Pouchong”) started in 1885 when immigrants from North Fujian planted the first tea gardens in the North-east of Taiwan near Wenshan mountains. With the tea bushes they brought tea production technology to Taiwan. Ready tea they wrapped in paper and sent to the continent, so it was called “Baozhong” or “Bundle”. In the second half of the twentieth century the manufacturers have orientated to the local market of high-quality teas. So the Baozhong has started to be produced revealing the natural floral nuances.
In appearance: medium-sized flagella of green leaves. The aroma is intensive, floral-herbaceous. The liquor is transparent, with yellow-green hue.
The brewed tea has a delicate, herbal-floral bouquet with peach, nutty and spicy notes. Aroma is sweet and tender, similar to fresh flowers. The taste is full-bodied and soft, refined, with light nuances of spices and refreshing aftertaste.
Brew tea with hot boiling water (90-95°C) in a porcelain gaiwan or a teapot of porous clay. The proportion is 5 g per 100 ml. The time of the first steeping is about 6-8 seconds. After that do short steeps (just for 1-2 seconds), increasing steeping time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can steep the tea up to 15 times.
"Baozhong – Aroma of Orchids" is a classic light-fermented oolong which will give you a feeling of freshness, spring renewal and pure joy.
