Oolong «Lishan Gaoshan Yuan Zhu Min» («Pear Mountain») is made from the first spring tea shoots harvested in an altitude over 2000 m (central Taiwan, the intersection of the counties of Nantou, Hualien, and Taichung). The mild climate, fertile soil, plenty of light and water, clean air, and sudden changes in daytime and nighttime temperatures make the tea plants strong and their leaves are fleshy and fragrant. On the sunny slopes there are peaches and plums, guava and exotic Taiwanese pears growing near the tea bushes. This alpine region is home to the indigenous inhabitants of the island, Yuan Zhu Min, who own tea gardens. They are engaged in tea manufacturing.
In appearance: large, glossy, bluish-green pellets of twisted tea shoots. The aroma is intensive, floral-herbaceous. The liquor is transparent, with a bright, greenish-yellow shade.
The bouquet of the ready-made tea is fresh and dazzling, floral-herbaceous, with nutty and spicy notes. The aroma is delightful and tender, floral-herbaceous. The taste is sweet, refined and full-bodied, pure and smooth, buttery, with delicate fruity sourness and long, refreshing finish.
Brew tea with hot water (80-90°C) in a porcelain gaiwan or a teapot of porous clay. The proportion is 6 g per 100 ml. The time of the first steeping is about 8-10 seconds. After that do short steeps (just for 1-2 seconds), increasing steeping time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can steep the tea up to 12 times.
