“Chen Mei Zhan” is an aged, heavily fermented oolong from the Wuyi tea region, made from the shoots of the Meizhan variety.
In appearance: large, dark brown tea leaves of longitudinal twist. The aroma is intense, bready, with a hint of dried fruit. The liquor is transparent, with a shade of yellow ocher.
The bouquet of the ready-made tea is warm, multifaceted, with notes of fried toast, spicy herbs, nuts, autumn leaves and dried fruits. The aroma is warm, complex. The taste is dense, soft, silky, sweetish, mineral, with a slight fruity sourness.
Steep the tea in a hot water (92-95°C) in a porcelain gaiwan or a porous clay teapot. The proportion is 6 g per 100 ml. The time of the first steeping is about 5-7 seconds. After that do short steeps (1-2 seconds), increasing steeping time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can steep the tea up to 7 times.
“Chen Mei Zhan” is an excellent choice for a gongfucha style tea ceremony. The effect is warming, relaxing.
