Aged, heavily fermented oolong from the Wuyi tea region.
In appearance: large, dark brown tea leaves twisted along the axis. The aroma is discreet, smoked, with a hint of dried fruit. The liquor is transparent, with an ocher shade.
The bouquet of the ready-made tea is warm, multifaceted, woody, with hints of toasted bread, spicy herbs, tobacco and dried fruits. The aroma is warm, complex. The taste is dense, silky, sweetish, mineral, with a slight fruity tartness, spicy nuances and refreshing finish.
Steep the tea in a hot water (92-95°C) in a porcelain gaiwan or a porous clay teapot. The proportion is 6 g per 100 ml. The time of the first steeping is about 10 seconds. After that do short steeps (2-3 seconds), increasing steeping time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can steep the tea up to times.
“Wuy Lao Da Hong Pao” is an excellent choice for a gongfucha style tea ceremony. The effect is warming, meditative.
