“Purple Tips” are produced in 2016 spring by the Da Ye Factory. It is situated in the Jinngu Mountains, at the west of the Puer administrative district, Xishuanbanna tea region. The raw material is first spring buds.
The dry tea consists of large twisted lilac-brown leaves, thin, dark stems and some small green-olive hairy buds. The aroma is fresh, herbal, with dried fruit tones. The clear liquor is light mustard yellow.
The bouquet of brewed tea is classical for raw puer, with dominating wet herbal and spicy fruity tones. The aroma is strong, rich, herbal and floral. The taste is strong, round. The bitterness and astringency release in high concentrated infusion and turn into sweet tonic aftertaste.
“Purple tips” are brewed with 95-100°С water in the yixing teapot for raw puers or in the thick-walled ceramic gaiwan. Take 3-5 gr for 120ml volume vessel. Steep 5 seconds for the first infusions, and after the fourth infusion gradually increase the infusion time. Brew this way 8-9 times.
It is nice budget tea for the everyday tea time. It has wild “mountain qi” or “mountain breathing” and notably changes the perception. It has bright rather then aggressive taste. Although it is young, it has nice potentiality to be stored for getting aged puer.
