This is red tea from Fujian province, tea plantations are situated at the Zhen Shan Mountains. This tea is produced since XV century. It is used oolong and white tea producing process for making Xiao Zhong. Tea leaves are smoked on the pine fire woods and as the result they got red-brown color and resinous smoky aroma. The best varieties of Xiao Zhong are named “Lao Song Xiao Zhong”, “Old Pine Tea”. This tea is wide known in Europe and Great Britain as “lapsang souсhong”. It is produced also in Vietnam with chemical flavoring.
High quality Zhen Shan Xiao Zhong has red-vinous leaves, smoky aroma and cinnamon flowers taste. The taste and aroma of brewed tea is deep, rich with prunes and dry pear overtones. There is nice pine smoky tint in the tea aroma. This tea has nice heating effect and especial nice for tea time during cold season.
