We are opening a course of lectures by Nina Voronina on symbolism in anime, manga and Japanese video games.
Let's start with Hayao Miyazaki and his fascinating worlds full of everyday wonders.
In an hour and a half we will find out:
what invisible spirits and gods live in Japan (we started talking about them at lectures about the cult of mountains and shinto) – and what should be done to see them;
How Japanese beliefs are reflected in the cartoons of Hayao Miyazaki;
🔸what inspired the baths of Yubaba;
Who are Kodama, Totoro and the Guardian of the River.
The presenter is Nina Voronina, a Japanese scholar and an anthropologist of religion.

Dear friends, the topic of the next Go school lesson will be the tactical aspects of the game.

Tasting "Tea Kitchen"
Just in case, we warn you about the menu: the dishes are not vegan - there are milk, fish and eggs among the ingredients.
Products containing soy, sesame and citrus fruits are also used.
Preparation of one of the dishes takes at least five days!
The dishes will be served with spicy (star anise, rosemary, oregano, thyme, cloves, sumac) and spicy (chili) dressings based on vegetable oil, as well as table and balsamic vinegar.

Japanese Music Concert
Andrey Zhilin (Shakuhachi)
On Thursday, Andrey Zhilin, a great lover and professional of Japanese traditional music, will perform at the Tea Culture Club on Malaya Dmitrovka.
The concert will feature Japanese folk songs, meditative pieces by Zen monks, as well as modern soothing music for the bamboo flute shakuhachi.
