Friends, we invite you to join the new lecture by Andrey Shcherbakov, dedicated to the interaction of the cultures of the West and the East in the space of aesthetic experiments. The lecture will be held on the Moychay Live channel and this is no coincidence, because it was in the 18th century that China first treated Europe to a cup of tea.
This lecture will be devoted to the most amazing period in the history of interaction between the cultures of the West and the East, it will focus on the courtly 18th century, which for Europe was marked by the birth of Orientalism with its vivid interest in the East and especially in China. In turn, in China it was the era of Occidentalism - curiosity about the culture and art of the West.
We will contemplate works of art and look for the roots of such an interesting phenomenon as the cultural resonance of two so different worlds.
