Sticky powder or "joss stick glue" is a neutral, sticky substance used in the manufacturing of incense sticks, especially in traditional Chinese incense production. The tree commonly used for joss stick glue is the Litsea glutinosa, also known as "jut" or "tabu." The resin extracted from this tree is used as a sticky base in incense stick manufacturing.
The aroma is light in character, but thick in tone; sweet, velvety, fresh and sunny, distinctly sandalwood, with hints of sweet candy, flowers, fresh buns and a hint of palo santa. The recipe is based on high-quality sandalwood (heartwood) from Indonesia, the island of Timor.
