"Gua Feng Zhai" is the name of one of the most remote villages in the Yiwu mountains. Over the recent years, it has become very popular among puer lovers on a par with such places as Yiwu, Mahei, Loshuidun, Laodingjiazhai and Mangxiu. There are a lot of ancient tea trees growing here.
The dried tea leaves are long, large, twisted, dark purple, red and beige, also there are some some long stems. The aroma of dried tea is warm, quiet, fruity and woody. The clear liquor has a dark cognac tint.
The bouquet of brewed tea is complex, mature, noble, with hints of exotic wood resins, dried apricots, autumn leaves, wild mushrooms and nuts, dry ground, steam baths and shu puer.
The taste is mild, oily, dense, round, sweet and rich. It releases gradually from dry and hot notes at the beginning, and gets juiciness and sweetness in the middle of the tea time. The aroma is quiet, balsamic, woody-nutty, with a hint of vanilla. The remarkable aftertaste is long lasting.
"Gua Feng Zhai" is brewed with 95°С boiled water in the gaiwan or Yixing teapot for raw puers. Take 5-6 grams per 100 ml. vessel. Make short infusions (just a second) and increase the infusion time gradually. It goes 12 infusions.
This is an excellent aged ceremonial raw puer. It is mild, polyphonic and long lasting. It creates a feeling of inner clarity, calm and self-confidence, it drives into a deep, meditative state.
