“Mao Feng” means “Fluffy Peaks”. It is one of the most famous tea varieties. It is produced almost everywhere in the tea regions. Each producer has got its own specific producing secrets. “Zhi Mao Feng” is harvested and produced from young spring buds in the Mingshan County (Mengding Peak, Sichuan province). “Zhi” means “straight”, this is a vertical line in the hieroglyph.
The dry tea consists of long needles of grey-green twisted leaves, stems and buds, covered with silver hair. The aroma of dry tea is rich with herbal and honey tints. The infusion color is clear with a light green tint.
The bouquet of brewed tea is light, fresh, bright, with herbal and flower tones. The taste is rich, soft, oily. If infuse tea a bit longer, than needed, the taste becomes a bit astringent. The tender aroma reminds summer motley grass. Pure, fresh aftertaste.
Infuse this tea with chilled boiled water (75-80°С) in a porcelain gaiwan or in glass teaware. Take 3 grams for 100 ml volume dish. Shed tea with water and increase infusion time gradually. This tea can be infused for 7-8 times this way.
It is an excellent choice for the everyday tea time during the light part of the year. It is very light, friendly and vivid, has refreshing and tonic effect.
