«Kao Huo Lao Baxian» («Eight Immortals») is an aged Oolong from Chaozhou County (medium heat). Harvest 2016, re-baked on coals in the spring of 2020.
In appearance: middle-sized, dark brown, flagellum twisted leaves with thin cuttings. The fragrance is intensive, berry with floral accent. The liquor is transparent, with a mahogany shade.
The bouquet of ready-made tea is multifaceted and vivid, berry-and-floral, with spicy, woody and balsamic notes. The aroma is complex and deep, berry-floral. The taste is full-bodied and oily, sweetish, a bit spicy, slightly astringent, with berry acidity and refined citrus bitterness (in a low concentration, the bitterness is not felt). The finish is long, juicy and sweet.
Brew tea with a hot water (85-95°С) in a porcelain gaiwan or in a teapot of porous clay. The proportion is 4-5 g per 100 ml. The time of the first steeping is about 5-7 seconds. After that do short steeps (just for 2-3 seconds), increasing steeping time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can repeat this method up to 10 times.
«Kao Huo Lao Baxian» is an excellent Chaozhou oolong with versatile taste, magnificent aroma and invigorating effect.
